I live in Los Angeles, where it is sometimes difficult to tell exactly when spring starts, but I grew up on the East Coast, in the New York and DC areas, where there is usually little doubt when winter ends and spring begins. In the Northeast it’s all about crocuses and tulips, dogwoods and lilacs. In DC, there seem to be acres and acres of tulips and daffodils, not to mention the famous cherry trees. No matter where I live, spring to me means flowers and a new start.
