Dear John: The Spark Is Gone

Dear John,

I am no longer attracted to my boyfriend. Don’t get me wrong he is a good looking guy, but I just don’t want to be physical with him anymore. What’s wrong with me? Is this a phase? What do I do?

An Illustrated Guide to What We Girls are Thinking

Bad news, women. Just when we thought we’d perfected the feminine mystique, suddenly The Man comes along and cracks our code. And when I say “The Man,” I mean, of course, “match.com.” Now that our secret is out, it’s up to us girls to clarify to the world just what match.com is talking about.

The Guy Files: What Question(s) Do You Wish Your Woman Would Never Ask? by John Siscel

The Guy Files: What Question(s) Do You Wish Your Woman Would Never Ask?

The average man speaks 2,000 words a day. The average woman speaks 20,000 words a day. Discrepancy, anyone? Fact is that women talk way more than men and they tend to wind up asking questions that men dread. But which ones do men fear the most? I asked a few guys to find out.

Are You a Flirt? by Eris Huemer, MA

Are You a Flirt?

Animals do it. Peacocks fan their tails, mice twitch their noses (remember “Bewitch” and her bewitching nose?), turtles nod their heads at each other for hours at a time. So whether you’ve perfected the human come-hither look, toss of the hair, arching the back or not, it’s easier than you think. Flirting is all about having fun, and being playful and sexy. If you can do that then you can be a flirting pro.

Ask John: Why Won’t My Man lead? by John Siscel

Ask John: Why Won’t My Man lead?

Dear John,

The car I’d been driving since college recently died. Though I was sorry to see it go, I knew it was coming. And I expect my boyfriend, a gear head, would help me pick out  a new one and maybe do all the negotiating, searching, etc for me. But he did NOTHING. He didn’t even go with me to test drive them.

The Guy Files: The 411 on Monogamy/Infidelity by John Siscel

The Guy Files: The 411 on Monogamy/Infidelity

With Tiger Woods and Jesse James making the headlines lately there’s been a lot of talk about men and monogamy. Or rather the apparent lack thereof. Is infidelity inevitable? Can men be monogamous? Are women more or less likely to stay faithful than men? I decided to ask some guys to find out their thoughts.

Is Your Spouse Pulling Away? by Eris Huemer, MA

Is Your Spouse Pulling Away?

Even though many relationships end up in break-ups or divorce, that doesn’t mean that yours has to. There are many relationships that last 30, 40, even 50+ years. I have worked with many clients who were separated or on the brink of getting divorced who succeeded at turning things around.

Ask John: Couch Potatoes, Facebook and Beyond by John Siscel

Ask John: Couch Potatoes, Facebook and Beyond

Dear John,

My boyfriend doesn’t like to do new things. He doesn’t like to travel, go to a club or even a concert. A perfect night for him - staying at home, ordering in food and watching “Whale Wars” or “Deadliest Catch”. I have visions of us going wine tasting or the Hollywood Bowl. I don’t want to be the “never gonna happen” couple. How can I get him to be more adventurous?! More classy?
Signed,
- Bored Simply
