Why You Need a Money Tree by Diane Driscoll

Why You Need a Money Tree

This tree, Pachira Aqautica or commonly called the Money Tree, has long been popular in Japan and the Feng Shui world for its powers of good fortune and positive energy. It’s not actually a single tree, but a number of trees braided together with a lot of symbolic meaning. I talked to expert Feng Shui master, Katherine Anne Lewis, to find out more.

The Rag Hag Review: Cloth Paper Scissors by Laura Simandl

The Rag Hag Review: Cloth Paper Scissors

I am a wannabe crafter. I do dabble on occasion however, life, a small living space and an addiction to television does not always make crafting possible. Though there are very few crafting fields that I’m not intrigued by, my main concentration is mixed media and collage — specifically I love combining paper, fabric and sewing or embroidery to make a piece of art. Lucky for me, there is a magazine that encourages me to dabble in my loves called Cloth Paper Scissors.

Your Guide to Container Gardening

Accessorize Ladies!

Container gardening always seems to look  harder than it actually is. There appears to be some kind of special training or membership to a secret horticultural society, required to venture this task. You look upon other gardens and say, “isn’t that beautiful, I wish my house looked like that!” Stop wishing and dreaming and start doing. In my opinion gardening is just like everything else in life - at first you’re scared of the unknown and you don’t want to make mistakes. You will learn more from doing, failing and trying again than you will from reading and wishing. The basics of container gardening can be broken down into 4 categories: what, where, how, and why not.

Hot Under and Over the Sheets by Diane Driscoll

Hot Under and Over the Sheets

I had my first ‘hot under and over the sheets experience’ one winter in Vegas. My friend, Nikki, was playing the female lead in “Spamalot.” Due to the extremely dry desert air and 9 shows a week, she couldn’t turn on the heat or it would dry out her voice. So she got an electric mattress pad. I jumped into her bed one morning to watch a movie and have never been so happy-toasty since!
