One  question I am asked all the time is, “I found this great “treasure” at the flea market…how can I erase any negative energy/chi from it?”  Here are a few Feng Shui remedies to remove any negative vibes from the item in order to achieve the goal of Feng Shui – harmony and balance…in a room, in your home, in your life.
When we bought our first home we didn’t have many pieces of furniture. We didn’t even have chairs to sit on. Because our bank account was a little on the low side, we decided to go to flea markets, yard sales, and estate sales – that way we could spend less money on all those great “treasures” for our home. I knew I might have to get rid of some of the past owners energy and create positive energy/chi for the furniture because that energy would feed my new home.
One day, we were at a flea market and we found two fantastic chairs that would look amazing and fit perfectly in our living room. My husband nudged me to take the lead in asking lots of questions before we bought the chairs.
I begin to chitchat with them to see what their energy was like, and also if they knew the previous owners of the chairs. I asked if they were happy, easy going, and wealthy people. If so that would be great energy for our home.
If not that was fine because I knew of a few simple Feng Shui remedies that would do the trick.  Also I really loved the chairs, and my motto is “everything is fixable.”
The first thing I did when I brought them home is I saged the chairs inside, outside, and at every angle. You do this buy buying a bundle of sage, light it and let it flame for a minute, and then you blow it out. It will start to smoke and you work that around the item. Once I put the chairs in my living room, I saged the room. This would help alleviate any negative energy/chi from the chairs coming into my home.
I also took a little bit of orange oil with beeswax and wiped down the furniture. The orange oil will get rid of any negative or any other vibes that may be on the furniture. Remember first to apply only a drop of the combination on the bottom of the furniture to see if it’s too strong or you can purchase a brand like Howard’s Orange Oil Furniture Polish which is safe to use on antiques.
I also bought a painting to hang on the wall. I took a Clorox wipe and wiped down the wall where the painting was going to hang. This will help erase the negative energy/chi from the painting.
If you have a room full of furniture or items from flea markets and that room feels stuck.  Take a 1/2 capful of bleach mix with five gallons of water, and lightly wipe down your walls.  Always test an area of your wall near the bottom. The solution is mild – you should not smell the Clorox.  The bleach/water combination will erase ALL negative energy from the past and give you a clean, positive slate for your life.
Every time we have guests at our home, and they sit down in the chairs that we bought that day they say to me “these chairs feel so good.” Â Â A big smile comes across my face knowing that this was a great treasure that we discovered.
