Marrying Music & Movies

Whenever I tell people what I do for a living it’s never a quick conversation. “I’m a music supervisor” inevitably leads to having to say “I put music in movies” or “I am involved with all aspects of music in the movie.” From there on is a lengthy discussion on the finer points of the job and the conversation almost always ends with the person saying: “You have the coolest job ever!”

I let out an audible gasp when I heard of the untimely passing of John Hughes. It was as if a part of my childhood had been temporarily ripped out of me. If you are a girl “of a certain age” like me, I’m sure you remember where and when you saw all of the great John Hughes movies.
