One for Me, One for You
With all the candles out there, many lovely and fragrant, there is none so captivating as Jonathan Adler’s Muse candles in Noir and Blanc. The design of the continual faces is both elegant and ephemeral, especially as the candle burns and the translucent porcelain begins to glow. And the frangrance he has blended for each is equally captivating.
For the Blanc – it’s a crisp blend of fresh cut flowers, but not so heady as to turn off anyone who doesn’t usually go for a traditional flower blend. For the Noir, it’s notes of bergamot and black plum mingled with amber and vetiver lend a delicate, smoky and lightly earthy-green scent. While the Noir is more my style, I chose both because they smell that terrific. Like any of Adler’s pottery, they really are pieces of art and after the candle has burned for 70 hours, you’ll want to keep it on the table for fresh cut flowers or art.
