Consumer Electronics is a pretty broad category, and as you can imagine there were all ilk of devices on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas recently. And I do mean all ilk.
A couple of the items being shown are not exactly of the variety you would find at your local Best Buy.
One is from the folks behind Iolite. They’re touting the WISPR. It turns out to be a vaporizer you might use in states where medical marijuana is legal. It could also be used for tobacco.
What it does is heat your smoking materials to a point… 374 degrees… at which the chemicals you’re seeking are released as vapor, and you inhale that. The materials are never actually burned, so the draw is said to be smoother and cooler than through, say, a pipe. You inhale through a silicone straw.
The device comes in several fun colors. It weighs about 4 and a half ounces and holds about a half a gram of smoking materials. It runs on butane, and can hold enough to continue heating for more than two hours.
The WISPR is available on Amazon.com for about $270.00
Also on display at CES was a new product from the folks at Ohmibod.
They make vibrators… with a twist. They are attuned to a wireless transmitter, and can be attached to your favorite music source… an iPod, for instance. At a certain setting, the vibrator does its thing in concert with the music. It beats when the music does. It occurs to me that you could attach the transmitter to a television showing adult entertainment, too, and the vibrator would pulse at the same time the actors are… er… pulsing.
Omibod has been on the market a little while with this line, but the latest model is the Freestyle W, which has the dual-head design of the very popular “rabbit” style sex toy.
The Freestyle W has a rechargeable battery good for about three hours of pleasure. It’s splashproof but not waterproof. It has seven vibration patterns, three speeds, and two motors.
The Freestyle W is available at ohmibod.com for $130.00.
