The Star Cruncher: Your May Forecast

Neptune has entered Pisces for the first time since the year 1847. Neptune’s influence is in its highest expression because Pisces is the ruler of Neptune. We have just completed a 165-year orbit that returned Neptune to its discovery point of 26 degrees Aquarius in 1846.

As we begin our second 14-year journey through Pisces, Neptune heralds a yearning within us to connect more deeply to something greater than ourselves. Neptune in Pisces’ mission is to loosen the grip of the ego. It rules collective feeling. Hearts can open. Pisces energy longs to return to the Source. The element of Neptune is water, and thus its psychological function is to dissolve the limiting mental patterns that imprison us in our separate identities. We can see Neptune in play as people choose to forsake their own needs for the betterment of others. Neptune in Pisces connects us deeply to a soul lesson of “serve or suffer,” compassionate service for the suffering or suffering as a means to awaken compassion within.

Another manifestation of this period is the choice of escapism versus spiritual awareness. Pisces is the sign of Saint and Sinner, the Priest and the Addict. Previously, Neptune in Pisces delivered the popularization of opium use, séances and contact with the spirit world, the impressionist painters, the communist manifesto, “Workers of the world, unite!” and new discoveries such as photography and anesthesia.

Neptune will transform. Neptune in Pisces will be felt. Neptune will find its way into each of us for our own transformation and growth. If we miss the call for service for those in need, the result can be a spiritual growth thru isolation and disillusionment. All roads lead to us to a realization of compassion. To alleviate another’s suffering is blessedly the sweet liberation of our own. Whether it’s self-suffering or another’s suffering is no longer the matter at hand. We are all one in the end and each other’s suffering is indeed our own.
